What is an obstetric ultrasound?
An obstetric ultrasound uses sound waves to visualize & determine the condition of a pregnant woman & her embryo or fetus.
Why do you perform ultrasound examinations?
Ultrasound exams performed by Crossroads Pregnancy Center's medical professional are administered in order to:
- Confirm pregnancy
- Detect fetal heart beat
- Determine fetal age
- Determine due date
- Determine the location of pregnancy (intrauterine/ectopic)
Please note that the limited obstetric ultrasound examination is not intended to diagnose any abnormalities or problems.
Who will conduct the ultrasound?
Obstetric ultrasound examinations will be provided by the Crossroads Pregnancy Center nurses who are trained in limited obstetrical ultrasound. The nurses are female and report to the Crossroads Pregnancy Center’s medical director, who reviews each client’s chart. The nurse will immediately refer the client to the emergency room or primary care physician if any unusual observations are detected.

The responsiblities that come with pregnancy can often be overwhelming. We are here to offer assistance in a number of ways. One major way is to connect you with a network of people who can offer assistance with medical care, legal assistance and housing.

Being a parent to day is a huge responsibility, but also a great joy. With the support of caring people and the training we can offer, many women find the resources they need to make the positive choice.
The Earn While You Learn (EWYL) program that offers a custom-tailored curriculum to fit your individual needs. Participants meet one-on-one with a peer counselor.
Parents earn "Mommy Money" to shop in The Stork's Nest store for maternity and baby clothing, supplies, diapers, furniture, baby layettes and handmade quilts, etc.
Clients, along with their husbands or partners, are eligible to enroll in the EWYK program.
